Mariel Maguna
I am a Licensed Psychologist, graduated from the Universidad de la Marina Mercante (UDEMM) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Anxiety at the Argentine Association of Anxiety Disorders (AATA).
I work online in Spanish and English —individually— with adults from different parts of the world, mainly migrants, as I am one myself. I support them through life transitions, periods of major change, personal crises, relationship difficulties, adaptation and migratory grief.
I also work with people going through emotional difficulties, low self-esteem, perfectionism, excessive self-demand, procrastination, social isolation, lack of social skills and professional burnout. Especially academics and professionals who work under high exposure to burnout, emotional exhaustion and cognitive overload —in healthcare (doctors, biomedical scientists, nurses), technology or architecture, among others— and who want to improve their psychological wellbeing and restore the balance between their personal and working lives. My undergraduate thesis studied how remote work affects social isolation, stress and burnout in technology workers.
I believe it is essential to build a therapeutic space based on trust, respect and working together, so that you can move at your own pace towards the goals you want to reach. May each session be a space where you can better understand what is happening to you and gain tools and self-knowledge —through psychoeducation— to face difficulties more effectively.
